Let's start with a list of adjectives that we usually use to describe physical appearance:

Now, let's use these adjectives in the next sentences:

1. My father is tall and slim.
2. My sister is really beautiful.
3. My younger brother has blue eyes and freckless.
4. I have round face and short blond hair. 
5. My daughter has long blanck straight hair.

1. Shakira's height is 1.59 mts.  Beyoncé's height is 1.69 mts.
2. Beyoncé  is not as short as Shakira.
3. Shakira is not as tall as Beyoncé.
4. Shakira is as famous as Beyoncé.
5. Beyoncé is as popular as Shakira.
6. Shakira is as rich as Beyoncé.

We use the comparatives   as -adjective -   as to show that two subjects have similar characteristics, examples:

1. My brother is as tall as my father.
2. My sister is as young as you.

We use the comparatives  not as - adjective - as to express that two subjects don't have the same characteristics, or they don't look alike. Examples:

1. Cristiano Ronaldo is not as fast as Messy.
2. James Rodriguez is not as famous as Cristiano Ronaldo
