SUPERLATIVE    THE MOST...

  • Mount Everest is the highest peak  in the world.
  • Nile River is the longest river.
  • Lambourgini Veneno is the most expensive car.
  • The beatles were the most famous musicians in the 1960's.
  • Diamond Rose Iphone is the most expensive cellphone in the market.  Price: 8 million dollars

We form superlative adjectives by adding the suffix –est  to the short adjectives.      Big…… the biggest

Whales are the  biggest  animals in the sea.


We form superlatives with the particles the most, before long adjectives.            Beautiful  -   the  most beautiful.

Roses are the most beautiful flowers.

REMEMBER THE SPELLING RULES:

- When the adjective has one syllable and it ends with consonant vowel consonant, then the last consonant must be doubled.

big  -----    the biggest

- When the adjective has 2 syllables and ends with the letter y, we change the letter y and use the letter i.

healthy   -----   the healthiest


Irregular adjectives:

Good    -     Better    -   The best
Bad       -     Worse    -   The worst
Far        -     Further  -   The furthest
